In Rollin' with the nines the producers use such close up shots as the one above to draw emphasis towards something happening in the scene, which in this case is a black male holding a Tec 9 sub machine gun. This is a clever technique as it diverts the audiences view straight to the gun and makes them wonder what this man is going to use the gun for. Also due to the fact that he is wearing a ring could mean that he is married or he is wearing it strictly for show (bling).
